Bio:: Nathan Moore is a fearless songwriter and performer whose infectious indie-folk sound takes listeners on a thrilling flight into the vastness of musical and emotional possibility. The 2008 Telluride Troubadour dons many musical personas. His evocative one-man show has wowed audiences from coast-to-coast since 2007, but he often revisits his long-time roles as the versatile front man of the exciting indie rock band Surprise Me Mr. Davis (The Slip+Nathan Moore) and the charismatic leader of the innovative string band ThaMuseMeant. Nathan has been called “…one of the finest singer/songwriters of our generation” (Joe Adler, Glide Magazine), and is frequently compared to literary greats Dylan, Waits, Prine, and Cohen, but never without an impressed nod to his uniqueness. “One minute he is an insightful John Prine another minute he is a gruff Tom Waits, but most of all he is nothing more, nothing less than Nathan Moore” (Jay’s News and Reviews). John Conquest of 3rd Coast Music says “Moore’s songwriting is a combination of his intensity with the unpretentious mastery of language, literary depth, sardonic humor, incisive insight and unflinching honesty”, and anyone who has heard Nathan knows he brings all those elements to each and every song.

Moore’s 2007 solo album, "In His Own Worlds", is a collection that showcases his finely-honed poetic sensibilities dressed in what Dennis Cook of JamBase calls “the blessed synergy of early 70’s California country-rock”. "In His Own Worlds" spent 21 weeks on the Roots Music Radio Charts in 2007, and Cook calls it, “Moore at his finest, which is saying something. Rare is the time Moore’s music hasn’t filled my eyes with tears. Like Bob Dylan and Elliott Smith, he’s continually fearless in the face of dark, truthful mirrors.“ Nathan will be on the road in 2008 for solo and Surprise Me Mr. Davis tours on both coasts, as well as performing near his home-base in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. His next album “You Yeah Smokin’ Hot” is scheduled for digital-only release in September 2008.

June 23, 2008, Staunton, VA.
